That whole straight edge thing always bugged me. Drink or don't drink, but don't make a big deal about it either way. If you go the sober route, great. but don't do it because other people are doing it, or because your favorite band is doing it. Succumbing to peer pressure is more soul destroying than getting fucked up.
I'm not sure if Fugazi were straight edge, but it included Ian MacKaye who was also in Minor Threat, who were, if I remember correctly, like the Chuck Berry of straight edge. Something like that. I wouldn't know for sure because I avoided that shit like the plague.
