Want to try to break someone into reggae? You know the type. The "I like all music, except (fill in the blank)." It could be reggae, country, classical, jazz, or rap (they always call it rap instead of hip hop, because they like it to rhyme with crap). The people that single out a whole genre, because it hasn't been presented to them by someone who can make them sit down and consider it. That's where todays guy comes in. Ken Boothe, the ol' standby. He never seemed to meet a song he wouldn't cover. The first five down below, are covers of (in order) Mungo Jerry, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Bread, and Neil Young. All the songs have one thing in common. They were all Top 40 hits on AM radio in the seventies. This is where you attack. Slip one into a mix. With or without a segue from a similar song. Put the mix on when hanging out with the unsuspecting hater. Works almost every time.
