JIM, IT'S ON BACKWARDS

Here's a couple early Hendrix curiosities. I have no clue how I ran across these. It was just another one of those clicking frenzies. The Jimmy James and the Blue Flames was recorded live, but the sound is remarkably clear. It's from just before Chas Chandler dragged his ass off to the UK, to start what would become the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The other guitarist in the band is Randy California, who, after being left in the dust, would later be in Spirit.

The Early Years (also released titled Early Daze) was recorded with Lonnie Youngblood in 1963. I haven't listened to it yet, but it's a studio recording and with two songs with "Go Go" in the title, plus three takes of a song called "Wipe the Sweat," so, I'll be digging in.

Hendrix, backing Buddy and Stacy, 1965. Check him out on the far left, doing his over the top thing at 1:48.
