NO BELLS. NO WHISTLES.

Here's two solid mid-sixties stompers, from a couple Northwest second stringers (and by that I mean, not the Wailers and not our beloved Sonics). Both the Artesians and the Raymarks must've been medium hot shit back then, as was just about everybody who picked up a guitar north of California. I think you'll agree, the Northwest scene of the sixties had enough good bands, along with a few amazing ones, that if it wasn't for all that was happening at the same time (Motown, Stax, and other labels and regional scenes), it could have been a more recognized hub. On second thought, there wasn't a lot of flash going on. Maybe they were just too raw, unfashionably so. Enough that you literally had to have beer spilled on you at one of their gigs to fully get it. Anyways, give these a listen, loud. Spill some beer. Get crazy.
