DELICIA DE LA SCAVENGER

Oh yeaaah, the internet boneyard. I dig it. Maybe because dormant blogs with good music and links that still function give me the thrill of digging through tossed out records without getting my hands dirty. Come to think of it, that's part of what I like about digging through tossed out records. Getting dirty. You feel like you're on some sort of recon mission. Whatever. I ran into these gems five years ago, and was surprised that the links still function. One of these sites has been dormant for a year, the other for five years. Check both. There's a lot of top shelf stuff, most of which you may never run across again.

These particular songs are by Latin bands that sound like they listened to more than a little soul music. It's funky soul, and there's some Stax like stuff going on. Ersatz Stax was plentiful back then. Oh god, there's a genre name waiting to happen, Stax Mex. Let the eyerolling begin.
