PEEL OUT

Here's another person you should know, DJ John Peel.  If you don't, take a look at the short video below.  It'll give you an idea of why he what he was all about.  (A bit of a warning here: seeing Mark E. Smith of the Fall interviewed is kinda sad.)  One important thing was that Peel actually listened to demos, and he played them. Just watch the video.  Meet you in a few...


So today's big deal is actually the Peel archive, which, beginning on May 1st, will be posting his record collection, at the rate of one alphabetical group a week.  The bands that begin with "A," were posted on May 1st.  So, as of today I know that Peel preferred Abba's Voulez Vous over Arrival.  That's were we differ.  I prefer the early Abba stuff.  I can overlook that.  To stream his stash, you have to sign up for Spotify, so take that as you will.  But there's other stuff too: Peel Sessions, on air dialogue, video, and what not.  So, it may be something to look into.  Here's the link: the Peel Archive.
