Jeez, just one more reminder that true country and western music is nearly gone. Little Jimmy Dickens died today. He was the oldest living Grand Ole Opry member, and a with that, the old, old guard. If you know anybody under, I dunno, fifty or sixty, their idea of country music probably doesn't include western, let alone hillbilly, or even Bakersfield. It's just rock star type posturing, crappy music with down home lyrics. It's only a matter of time before real country and western is relegated to retro bands with small followings, another reminder that the public at large has shitty taste.
