Here's a cool mix, from Ghetto Blasters and Switchblades, a nifty site with plenty of other cool mixes as well. I singled this one out, because it includes Don and Dewey, who are near saints in these parts, and Link Wray taking a stab at a vocal number, something you don't hear everyday. A lot of you might have some or most of the songs, but for those of you who don't, you've got a bit of catching up to do. This one has Eddie Cochran, Charlie Feathers, Bunker Hill, the Phantom, Kip Tyler, Jack Scott, Black Lips, Ramones, Pussy Galore, Hasil Adkins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Link Wray, the Gories, the Sonics, Hank Mizell, Don & Dewey, Oblivians, Teengenerate, Ronnie Allen, New York Dolls, the Shangri-Las, and the Cramps, among others.
Dig around over there because they have a bunch of well informed mixes: A garage mix, a few punk rock mixes, power pop, "Another Fucking 80s College Rock Playlist," a hardcore mix; you get the picture. The song selections are good enough that you may mistake it for the record collection of that motherfucker who bought everything before you did. You know him, doesn't let a beer get within ten yards of the stereo. But how thrashed are your records?
