Sun Ra has a thousand records out and I've heard only a handful. This I do know: every Sun Ra tune that I've ever heard is, at the very least, interesting. More often than not, they're other worldly. What better representation of this than his "There Are Other Worlds (They Have Not Told You Of)"? For Sun Ra it's typical, ten minutes of dramatic slow moving space jazz.
