THE PARTY BAND

I ran into a Joe Cuba Sextet cut over at Soul Sides. You know that lead-in. Yeah, I ended up revisiting some of their other stuff. Those guys slay me. When they decide to go goofy, it's like some Latin version of Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts. I only have the "Bang Bang" LP, so my initial  exposure included "Bang, Bang" and "Push, Push, Push". You can guess what they're getting at with those titles. If not, check "Pud-Da-Din", which is about as subtle as a frat party band doing Donna Summers's "Love to Love You Baby".
