Just a quick one here, not entirely noteworthy musically, just an oddball I'd been looking for an excuse to post. A friend of mine, let's call her by her proper title, Lady Latimore, hepped me to the video below of a commercial, which is the accoutrement I'd been looking for. It's for a mens cologne called Mandom, and features Charles Bronson. He was probably assured at the time that the commercial would only be aired in Japan. Should he have consulted the Amazing Criswell, he would have been saved the postmortem embarrassment of a YouTube moment.
Now here's the song I'd been waiting to post, "Punk Rock Creeps" by a band calling themselves Bronson. It was introduced to the folks at Aquarius Records, in San Francisco, with the attached copy:
"I am one of Paul Kersey's neighbor's kids. He told my dad to let him come over and jam with us from time to time. Last night we made some more songs. He scared us some, because he said now was the time to have the songs listened to. So then we recorded all our songs on to my computer. Please play them in the record store. Mr. Kersey said for me to find out where the songs can be played to creeps."
For those born yesterday, Paul Kersey is the character that Bronson played in the Death Wish movies. If you haven't seen any of them, or are unfamiliar with Charles Bronson, take a pass. The rest of you can take a moment out of your day to rid the streets of creeps.
