THEY JUST LOOK HARMLESS

You want to hear a good cover? Listen to this sucker. Ronnie Hawkins skins "Who Do You Love," and gnaws on the bones; not to slight Bo Diddley's original, which is also hot shit, or the song itself, which is pure badass gold. My favorite part of the song is actually two parts, one at :52, and the other at 1:56; each about eight seconds of monosyllabic guttural glee.

"Southern Love" has a sort of spooky sound has the same feeling as Wanda Jackson's "Funnel of Love," Kip Tyler's "She's My Witch," or any number of Jody Reynolds songs; which is to say Cramps meat. "Forty Days" is a cover of Chuck Berry's "Thirty Days" with ten days added. You know, because Hawkins is way more chill.
