WEIRDNESS ALL AROUND

Phew! The one-two punch of being under the weather (head cold, thank you) and the El Topo soundtrack put me in a different space today. I'd bookmarked the source post a couple years back and just ran across it again. I was surprised that it was still online, because it was posted five years ago (that's decades in blog years). It might be the soundtrack to the Alexandro Jodorowsky film El Topo, or it might just be music from the film, depending on where you're finding it. Confused? Try listening to "Freakout" (below), particularly the last half, and see if anything at all makes sense.

El Topo ("The Mole") is the film that started the whole midnight movie craze way back when. An isolated sound bite from one trailer says "It is miraculous and terrible," which pretty much sums up my tastes. I've never seen the film, but it seems sufficiently tweaked. The music is. If you're in a weird mood (and liking it), this might just be the thing to enhance it.
